What are your attic ladders made out of?

We carry attic ladders made of wood, aluminum, and steel.

How many models are there to choose from?

We currently have 24 models (types and sizes) to choose from.  We carry all "Werner" attic ladders, all "Rainbow Attic Stairs", "Louisville attic ladders", and "Fakro" attic ladders.

What is the tallest attic ladder you carry?

Ladder heights are measured from the floor to the ceiling drywall at the location where the ladder will be installed. We currently have one attic ladder that goes as high as 12 feet.  Our other ladders range between 7' - 11'6" inches in height.

What width attic ladder can I have?

This is determined by the framing on the house/building.  Most "tract home" builders use trusses that are set at 24inches "on-center" (or, 22 1/2 inches apart from inside of one truss to inside of the adjacent truss).  Older homes, custom homes and others may be "conventionally framed" (rather than trusses).  If your home had "trusses", there are many models to choose from all in the "22 1/2 inch" rough width.  If your home is conventionally framed, there are more choices of widths...those choices would be determined when we look at and evaluate your situation.

My garage is fire rated; will installing an attic ladder compromise this?

No. We add a sheet of galvanized steel to our ladders that are installed in garages.  This gives your attic ladder a fire resistance.  There is a nominal charge for this, added to the cost of your attic ladder.

Does my ladder come with a warranty?

Yes. All of our ladders come with a one year warranty.  We offer an extended warranty that is very reasonably priced.

You can view our ladders any time on our website on our "Photos" page.  We are also at most valley Home and Garden Shows.  You can view our "Home Show Schedule" page on our website for upcoming dates and locations.

Where can my attic ladder be installed?

We will come to your house for a free estimate to determine the best location (or choice of location) for your attic ladder.  We install attic ladders in garages, laundry rooms, bedroom closets, hallways, spare bedrooms, lofts....even bathrooms.  (The location of your current access to your attic is not necessarily where we will install your ladder.)

What maintenance is required on my attic ladder?

There is minimal maintenance on your attic ladder; however you will be instructed as to what is required following your attic ladder installation.

Does your company provide any storage compatibility in the attic?

Yes, as part of our free estimate we will evaluate your attic for storage potential...specifically, attic flooring and/or platforming.

How much does attic flooring/storage space cost?

Flooring costs are determined by how much square footage you have available and/or how much square footage you desire to have.  There may be reasonable additional costs if additional labor and materials are required to fit your particular attic situation.

How long does an attic ladder installation take?

Most ladder installations take from two to four hours depending on the model.  The addition of flooring/attic storage space would, obviously, take longer.  Most "average" jobs that include a ladder and attic flooring are completed within a day.
